Our SKUD has shipped

The new boat, the SKUD-18, has shipped from Singapore and due to arrive at the end of May. Upon arrival, we will partake in a training camp with US Disabled Sailing coach and five time Rolex Yachtswoman of the Year, Betsy Alison, and other US SKUD-18 teams.

The photo to the right shows a boat builder putting the finishing touches on a SKUD-18 in Batam, Indonesia.

Tomorrow we will be in Newport, Rhode Island practicing with Paralympic campaigners in the Martin 16. Although the SKUD-18 will arrive soon, it's important we continue to practice in the Martin 16 because the first event for the new boat will not be until the Thomas Clagett Jr. Memorial Regatta in August. This event will also serve as the qualifying event for the 2006 US Disabled Sailing Team.

Look forward to some photos from tomorrow and Thursday in Newport.
