This turkey is going sailing

It's the eve of my departure for St. Petersburg, and Maureen will be following down on Sunday. We plan to rig the boat Sunday and begin practice on Monday with the other US teams.

Last week, we attended US Sailing's Annual General Meeting. On Friday there was a meeting for Sailors with Disabilities where I was coerced into volunteering volunteered for Web liaison. I'm excited to work on improvements and some much needed housekeeping. Saturday we attended the Annual Awards Dinner. Urban Miyares, a blind sailor and founder of Challenged America in San Diego, California, was presented with US Sailing's Gay S. Lynn Memorial Trophy for his outstanding contribution to disabled sailors and the sport of disabled sailing

This past Tuesday night we attended Mass Bay Sailing Association's Annual Awards Dinner where we were awarded a monetary gift. Many members of the MBSA know the cost of a campaign and we are extremely grateful for their support and acknowledgment of our efforts. We also had the opportunity to talk about our campaign and present some photos taken over the last couple of months. Maureen and I had a great time and enjoyed some familiar faces.

We hope you had a great turkey day! Check back for a report on the America's Regatta.
