High performance and accessible
The SKUD-18 is an evolutionary two person lead-assisted skiff designed by Julian Bethwaite and Martin Billock from B & B Design and Chris Mitchell from Access Dinghies. The universal design specifically accommodates all types of physical disabilities. Regardless of disability, anyone can be competitive in a SKUD-18.
For Paralympic competition, the SKUD-18 will be sailed with both crew and skipper seated centerline. The two-person keelboat event stipulates two requirements:
- At least one member of the team must be female.
- At least one member of the team must be classified as severely disabled.
